The Italian ultrarunning event in the Pontedilegno-Tonale area (September 22nd to 24th), is now part of the International Trail Running Association’s new series
The Adamello Ultra Trail, an Italian ultrarunning event set to take place from September 22nd to 24th in the Pontedilegno-Tonale area, has joined the International Trail Running Association’s (ITRA) latest project, the National League.
The ultradistance race, which runs through Alta Val Camonica and Alta Val di Sole and crosses the Adamello and Stelvio Nature Parks, adds another level of excitement to its already challenging routes. Starting from the next edition, the three distances of 170 km, 100 km, and 35 km will award points not only for the UTMB Index Race (100M, 100K and 20K respectively) and the ITRA Index Race (6, 5 and 2), but also for the ITRA National League.
ITRA’s new initiative aims to “promote the development of trail running at the national level, create a challenge accessible to every runner, encourage runners to reduce their carbon footprint by running locally and expand services for runners and organizers.”
The National League ranking will be divided by Country and athletes earning points in three or more races will be eligible to join. The best three results according to the ITRA Index Score will be used to calculate the ranking. The winners of the first edition will be announced in January 2024.
Joining the National League project is automatic for events that are part of the National League series. Adamello Ultra Trail has already opened registration for its next edition, with a total of 800 spots available. Early bird registration, with the same fees as 2022 (180, 90 and 40 euro respectively), is available until June 30th. After this date, fees will increase by 20 euros until September 3rd or until the maximum number of participants is reached.
