The trail and ultra-running event, retracing the footsteps of the Great War in the Italian Alps, is gearing up to celebrate a significant milestone from September 20-22, 2024. Runners of all ages and levels of experience are set to once again fill the trails of the Pontedilegno-Tonale area with grand celebrations
From September 20 to 22, 2024, the Adamello Ultra Trail will mark a special occasion: its tenth edition. The event, taking place in the scenic Pontedilegno-Tonale area and covering historic paths from the Great War in Alta Val Camonica and Alta Val di Sole (Northern Italy), will celebrate a decade of trail and ultra-running by fully reaffirming the program of the 2023 edition.
In line with tradition, participants can compete across three distances: Short, Trail, and Ultra Trail. The celebrations will commence the weekend prior, with the Adamello Series’ schedule of supplementary events, including the Adamello Vertical Kilometer—which had its successful debut in 2023—and the Adamello Trail Junior.
In its ten-year journey, #AUT has expanded from a single distance event to a total of seven events, growing from fifty participants in the inaugural edition to over seven hundred from around the globe in recent years. The organizers of ASD Adamello Ultra Trail are eager to celebrate this growth and are committed to its continuation for the forthcoming tenth edition, which will continue to be headquartered in Vezza d’Oglio (Brescia).
Registration opens on February 1st with a total cap of 850 participants Allocation is as follows: 350 places for the 35 km Short Trail (2.200 m di dislivello positivo) e l’Adamello Trail da 100 km (6.050 m D+), 250 posti per l’Ultra Trail da 170 km (11.500 m D+).
The “early bird” registration phase for the 100 km and 170 km events will be available once again: those securing a bib by June 30th will benefit from the stable prices of 180 and 90 euros respectively, unchanged from recent years. After this date and until registration closes on September 8th, the fees will rise to 200 and 110 euros. Meanwhile, the 35 km Short Trail fee will remain fixed at 40 euros.
Included in the registration fee are: the race bib; access to the popular food and beverage stations along the routes; medical assistance; transportation of a personal bag to the life base (for the 170 km event); the essential GPS service; and a rich race pack featuring technical sports gear and local gastronomic delights. Also provided are post-race amenities (showers, restrooms, and medical services) and a finisher’s medal for all those who complete their race. Additionally, prizes will be awarded to winners and top runners across the various distances.
Regarding the Adamello Series’ side events, the Adamello Vertical Kilometer, set for September 15th, reaffirms its challenging course of 3.9 km with 1,000 m of elevation gain, starting from the center of Vione in Alta Val Camonica and finishing at the archaeological site of Tor dei Pagà, also within Vione. The event is limited to 100 athletes at a cost of 25 euros until September 8th, increasing to 35 euros in the final week. Concurrently, on the afternoon of Sunday, September 15th, the Adamello Trail Junior will engage children up to 14 years old with age-appropriate courses.
