Regulations and program’s draft

the route of the Adamello Vertical Kilometer (AVK), Adamello Vertical Slow (AVS) and
Adamello Vertical Junior (AVJ) runs mainly on forest roads, mule tracks and trails. Participation in these types of events, however, is reserved for athletes
with proven experience of both competing in mountain environments, aware of the length of the race and with enough autonomy to be able to manage themselves as best they can, without outside help.

Competitors in the AVJ-Adamello Vertical Junior must be born between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2010 in order to participate, while competitors in the AVK-Adamello Vertical Kilometer must be born in 2006 or earlier.

Competitors of the AVJ-Adamello Vertical Junior and AVK-Adamello Vertical Kilometer must hold a medical fitness certificate for the practice of this competitive activity, issued by a sports medicine doctor and recognized in their country of residence, valid for the duration of the race, as well as a national health card. As FISKY competitions, these events follow the rules and regulations of FISKY, and FISKY membership (annual or daily) is required.

Upon registration, competitors sign to start and finish the route by bringing the following mandatory material with them at all times (checks may be made at any times).

Mandatory equipment:

  • Technical equipment, with shoes and clothing that must be suited for skyrunning or trail running.
  • Windproof Jacket

It is within the authority of the race director, depending on the weather conditions, to require competitors to be equipped throughout the duration of the race with a windproof jacket (a special announcement will be made on the day of the race)

Any additions or changes to what is listed will be communicated the day before the race.

  • GPS device
  • Waterproof pants cover
  • Hooded waterproof jacket
  • Bag with extra clothes (optionally deliverable on departure for transport to arrival)
  • Trekking or skiing sticks are allowed. It is recommended not to leave sticks along the route as there is no collection and/or transport service sticks.
  • Protective glasses
  • The track will be marked. However, participation in the event assumes good mountain orienteering skills. It is recommended to use a gps device; the full route gpx is available online and will be promptly updated in case of any changes to the route.
  • Competitors must follow the route marked by the organization without taking any shortcuts: cutting or abandoning the route, in addition to being at the exclusive risk of the competitor, will result in disqualification from the event. Competitors out of maximum time or in trouble must leave the race only at a control point, where they will be escorted downhill by the organization’s staff.
  • In case of illness or injury, the organization must be contacted. Any runner who abandons the race without notifying it immediately shall bear all expenses related to the initiation of the search by rescue personnel. At every stage of the race, runners must move independently and self-sufficiently, without outside help and/or assistance, except to take advantage of the organization’s supplies.
  • Littering and/or leaving any object along the way, will lead to disqualification.
  • In case of need, athletes are requested to help each other out.
  • To ensure the best safety conditions for all participants, it is forbidden to race along with pets/animals.

All decisions will be made by the jury and will be considered as final. There are the following penalties:

  • Unsportsmanlike conduct, threats/insults to athletes/organizers/volunteers or actions that could be deemed dangerous to their safety or that could compromise the smooth functioning of the race = disqualification
  • Missing a check point = disqualification
  • Quitting or taking shortcuts = disqualification
  • Leaving trash behind or damaging the environment = disqualification
  • Not helping a participant who is in trouble = disqualification
  • Unauthorized outside assistance = from 30-second penalty to disqualification (use of means of
transportation in the race = disqualification)
  • Refusing to be checked or missing mandatory equipment: disqualification
  • Competitors with pets/animals will be automatically disqualified and considered external to the race, therefore held responsible for any damage
done to themselves, other competitors, and third parties in general.

Some check points are set along the route: missing on a check point equals disqualification.

A struggling participant who wants to quit the race, spontaneously or as per decided by the Jury/Medical staff, must do so at the closest check point, to allow the organization to provide the needed assistance and the downstream transportation.

  • Registrations open on June 15, 2025 through the form above.
  • By registering, competitors release the organizers from all civil and criminal liability to persons and property for damages that may occur during, after and related to the race
  • By registering for the AVK event, athletes agree to share their data with ISF to calculate the overall ranking.
  • Registration is open until Sunday, September 7 at a cost of €25, after that date it will still be possible to register but at a cost of €35. Registration will be closed in case the maximum number of participants (100) is reached.
  • Registration grants the right to participate in the event according to the schedule in these regulations and includes a gadget for all participants.

To complete the registration, it is necessary to hold the FISKY card, or the fee of 5.00 (five) euros as daily insurance.

  • The winning rider is the one reaching the finish line in Tòr dei Pagà in the shortest time.
  • The rankings and consequent awards will be according to the following categories   (awards for the top 3 finishers)

In case of race cancellation due to circumstances outside its control, the Organization reserves
the right to refund a percentage equal to 80% of the registration fee paid or the athlete may keep their registration valid for one of the next two editions of choice. This percentage is justified by the multiple expenses that the Organization has already made and that cannot recover.

In case of interruption or cancellation of the race due to weather conditions or for any other independent reason from the Organization, no refund will be due to participants. In addition, the Organization holds the right to change the route with checkpoint times and
maximum time and/or the placement of aid stations, the starting time, as well as the right to cancel or suspend the race at any time.
