Adamello Ultra Trail 2025 changes route due to weather conditions

Race organizers Adamello Ultra Trail A.S.D. have rerouted sections of the course to bypass dangerous high-altitude terrain following fresh snowfall. “Athlete safety is non-negotiable – the conditions overnight have forced our hand,” organizers stated. New course details will be released shortly.

Adamello Ultra Trail 2025 goes ahead as planned for its eleventh edition despite challenging weather hitting the Pontedilegno-Tonale region this weekend. The multi-distance trail running festival launches from Vezza d’Oglio (BS) tomorrow, Thursday, September 25, with media briefings and race registration opening. Friday morning at 7 AM sees the start of the 60K, 100K, and 170K races, with the 35K following on Saturday at 2 PM from Monno (BS).

Race organizers have rerouted the three longer distances to avoid treacherous high-altitude sections and exposed ridgelines. The revised courses will preserve original distances wherever possible, with full route details coming within hours. The 35K course remains unchanged.

“Make no mistake – Adamello Ultra Trail 2025 is happening. But we won’t compromise on safety for our thousand-plus athletes and hundreds of volunteers. Overnight snow has created conditions we simply can’t ignore on the most exposed sections. We’ve made the call to reroute away from the highest, most dangerous terrain while we finalize the new course maps. We’re urging all participants to double-check their mandatory gear requirements – especially microspikes and proper layering systems,” said Adamello Ultra Trail A.S.D. organizers.
