The trail running event in the Pontedilegno–Tonale area marks new milestones in its eleventh edition, scheduled for September 26–28. For the first time, more than 1,000 athletes across four distances will take on the #AUT trails. “It’s a source of great pride for us and for our mountains,” said the organisers.
Adamello Ultra Trail, the international trail running event in the Pontedilegno–Tonale area (September 26–28, 2025), opens its second decade with record-breaking numbers. For the first time in its history, the race has surpassed 1,000 registered runners, while also setting new highs for Countries represented (34) and female participation, with more than 200 women on the start list.
From Morocco to Norway, Latvia to Brazil, runners from across the globe will tackle the challenging trails of Alta Val Camonica and Alta Val di Sole, in the heart of the Adamello and Stelvio Natural Parks.
Since its debut in 2014 with only 50 participants, Adamello Ultra Trail has grown not only in numbers but also in scope. What began as a single 180 km challenge has evolved into four distances — 170 km, 100 km, 60 km and 35 km — together with a rich program of side events.
These side events opened the 11th edition on Sunday, September 14th, when the Adamello Vertical Kilometer (Elite, Junior and Slow) and the Adamello Trail Junior offered a spectacular show for both Italian and international fans. Local star Davide Magnini and World Champion in the Youth Vertical Kilometer category Martina Pozzi claimed prestigious victories, with the Italian Skyrunning national team also well represented.
In just over a week — from September 26th to 28th — more than a thousand runners will face an unforgettable adventure. The courses retrace the historic military routes of World War I, crossing tunnels, defensive walls, trenches and ancient mule tracks.
“Reaching the milestone of one thousand entrants is a huge achievement for us,” said the organisers of Adamello Ultra Trail ASD. “We started in 2014 with only 50 participants. This result rewards years of hard work and the support of our sponsors, institutions, volunteers and companions who have joined us along the way. It is not a finish line, but a new starting point: we can’t wait to showcase our mountains, our history and our trails to so many athletes from around the world.”
