Simon Krautloher and Kristina Kmetova claimed the 170 km crowns, Alessandro Affolati and Beliana Hilbert triumphed in the 100 km, Luca Arrigoni and Paola Gelpi ruled the 60 km. On Saturday evening, the 35 km concluded with Italian victories for Alessandro Mioli and Margherita Vitali<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Adamello Ultra Trail<\/strong>\u2019s <strong>11th edition<\/strong> concluded on <strong>Sunday, September 28th<\/strong> in <strong>Vezza d\u2019Oglio<\/strong>, Italy, earning rave feedback from the international field. Athletes praised the organisers for their shift&nbsp; course adjustments after unstable weather forced the removal of some iconic high-altitude sections above 2,500 metres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>It\u2019s never easy to cut legendary spots like the Contrabbandieri Pass or the Bocchette di Valmassa,<\/em>\u201d said the organising committee of <strong>Adamello Ultra Trail ASD.<\/strong> \u201c<em>However, athlete safety always comes first. Competitors understood and thanked us, proving once again the value of the team\u2019s behind-the-scenes work.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This edition broke every record set just a year ago: <strong>over 1,000 athletes<\/strong>, including more than <strong>200 women<\/strong>, from <strong>34 nations<\/strong> \u2014 with strong contingents from <strong>Germany<\/strong>, <strong>Great Britain<\/strong> and the <strong>Czech Republic<\/strong> \u2014 raced along the historic <strong>World War I routes<\/strong> of the <strong>Adamello<\/strong> and <strong>Stelvio Nature Parks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Including the <strong>Adamello Vertical Kilometer<\/strong> and the <strong>Adamello Trail Junior<\/strong>, participation climbed close to <strong>1,300 athletes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>These numbers show we are moving in the right direction,<\/em>\u201d the organisers added. \u201cSt<em>ep by step, year after year, we\u2019ve grown the event and welcomed runners from as far as Japan and Ireland. The inclusion in the TORX eXperience circuit has further boosted our international appeal. A huge thanks to every runner, volunteer, sponsor and partner \u2014 we look forward to seeing you again next year.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event\u2019s success is also shared with its long-standing institutional as well as private partners, the latter led by <strong>MICO Sport<\/strong> \u2014 main sponsor for the eighth consecutive year \u2014 alongside <strong>Edison<\/strong>, <strong>Ferrino<\/strong>, <strong>DF Sport Specialist<\/strong>, <strong>Salice<\/strong>, and newcomer <strong>LOWA<\/strong>, the German outdoor footwear brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>INTERNATIONAL TALENTS SHINE IN THE QUEEN DISTANCE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the second year running, the <strong>100-mile (170 km)<\/strong> ultra distance was claimed by international runners. Germany\u2019s <strong>Simon Krautloher<\/strong> captured the men\u2019s title on the shortened course of <strong>154 km with 9,500 m of elevation gain<\/strong> in <strong>22h27\u201936\u201d<\/strong>, finding his winning rhythm after the 100 km mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Behind him, Italian ultra specialist <strong>Daniele Nava<\/strong> finished in 23h34\u201935\u201d, securing his third consecutive podium, while France\u2019s <strong>Fabien Piquerez<\/strong> completed the top three in 23h58\u201916\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the women\u2019s race, Slovakia\u2019s <strong>Kristina Kmetova<\/strong> was in a league of her own, taking victory in <strong>27h06\u201925\u201d<\/strong>, well ahead of the chasers. Italian <strong>Sara Patricia Andreotta<\/strong> placed second in 33h00\u201948\u201d, adding another podium to her 2025 season, followed by Austria\u2019s <strong>Mirjam Muckenhuber<\/strong> in 33h14\u201915\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>AFFOLATI THE FASTEST MAN IN THE 100 KM DISTANCE, HILBERT GOES BACK-TO-BACK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the <strong>100 km<\/strong> distance &#8211; whose course was to 85 km with 5,000 m of climbing due to the weather conditions &#8211; Italy\u2019s <strong>Alessandro Affolati<\/strong> improved on last year\u2019s runner-up finish, winning in <strong>9h18\u201901\u201d<\/strong> ahead of compatriot <strong>Simone Vigolo<\/strong> (9h29\u201941\u2019\u2019). South Tyrolean <strong>Ivan Favretto<\/strong> claimed third in 9h45\u201947\u2019\u2019, moving up from fifth place in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the women, Germany\u2019s <strong>Beliana Hilbert<\/strong> repeated her 2024 success, clocking 10h54\u201947\u201d. She edged out Italy\u2019s <strong>Dematteis twins<\/strong>, <strong>Luisa and Enrica<\/strong>, who crossed the line together in 11h14\u201947\u201d and 11h14\u201950\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ITALIANS ON TOP IN THE 60 KM<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In only its second edition, the <strong>Adamello Half Trail 60 km<\/strong> (shortened to 58 km with 3,800 m of climbing) delivered all-Italian victories. <strong>Luca Arrigoni<\/strong>, fresh from winning the TOR100, confirmed his form with a time of <strong>6h19\u201907\u201d<\/strong>, more than 20 minutes ahead of <strong>Iacopo Barbieri<\/strong> (6h41\u201925\u201d). <strong>Robert Oberhollenzer<\/strong> completed the podium in 6h46\u201930\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Paola Gelpi<\/strong> continued her standout 2025 season with another win in <strong>7h39\u201950\u201d<\/strong>, her third major victory of the year. She was followed by <strong>Silvia Scipioni<\/strong> (8h24\u201918\u201d) and defending champion <strong>Valentina Moderana<\/strong> (8h49\u201901\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MIOLI AND VITALI RULE THE 35 KM<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The shortest \u2014 but no less demanding \u2014 distance saw Italians prevail once again. Starting Saturday afternoon from <strong>Monno<\/strong> with a full field of 300 runners, the <strong>35 km<\/strong> with <strong>2,200 m<\/strong> of elevation gain went to <strong>Alessandro Mioli<\/strong> and <strong>Margherita Vitali<\/strong>, who set times of <strong>3h26\u201940\u201d<\/strong> and <strong>3h40\u201957\u201d<\/strong>. Vitali also smashed the previous course record by more than 15 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>This so-called \u2018Short Trail\u2019 is not exactly short,<\/em>\u201d Mioli joked at the finish. \u201c<em>I started strong and made the difference on the downhill. Since I recently moved here to Vezza d\u2019Oglio, these trails feel like home to me and today\u2019s win is extra special.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mioli edged <strong>Cristian Terzi<\/strong> by just over a minute (3h27\u201946\u201d) and 2005-born <strong>Andrea Zenoni<\/strong> by two minutes (3h28\u201955\u201d). Vitali\u2019s triumph marked her fifth victory of the season, ahead of <strong>Sofia Toniolo<\/strong> (4h10\u201940\u201d) and two-time winner <strong>Raffaella Rossi<\/strong> (4h13\u201949\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>I honestly didn\u2019t expect to win,<\/em>\u201d said Margherita Vitali afterwards. \u201c<em>2025 has been a magical year for me \u2014 I\u2019m in great shape and feeling strong. My legs were good, and after a cautious start I gave it everything.
