A year after breaking the 650 participants barrier, the ultra-running event in the Pontedilegno-Tonale area set a new record with 719 athletes, confirming itself among the top events in the final part of the season. All bibs for the 90 and 35-kilometer races were sold out
With just over a week to go before the eighth edition kicks off on September 23-25, 2022, Adamello Ultra Trail is ready to be return to the trails of the Alta Valle Camonica in the Pontedilegno-Tonale area (Northern Italy). The event, which retraces the paths of the Great War between the Adamello Nature Park and the Stelvio National Park, has officially closed registrations on Saturday, September 10th: after breaking the closed number of 650 athletes in 2021, Adamello Ultra Trail expects as many as 719 starters this year, a new record for the event.
A new record has been set also for the women’s participation, with 114 athletes, and international: in fact, 94 participants are expected to join the event from outside Italy, waving the flag of 18 Countries. Beside Italy, Switzerland and Belgium are the Countries with the largest attendance, but United States, Egypt, Marocco, Singapore e South Africa – among others – are also represented.
In a season in which several events experienced drops in attendance figures after the post-pandemic boom, Adamello Ultra Trail saw its rise continue, as the bibs for two out of three distances – the shorter ones – were sold out. As usual, the running event organized by the A.S.D. Adamello Ultra Trail will also rely on the crucial contribution of the many volunteers, which will once again bring the total amount of people on the trails over the race weekend to more than a thousand.
The 2022 edition also brings along some novelties in the program, with new activities aiming to involve the entire community of the Alta Valle Camonica, and a particularly rich panel for the day of Saturday, September 24th. After the start of the 35 km race from Monno in fact (2 PM CET), from 4.30 PM CEST at the Centro Eventi in Vezza d’Oglio (Via del Piano, 1), music and entertainment will be brought by Radio VivaFM, also enriching the moment of the awarding ceremony of the 90 km race.
The race pack for this year has been further enriched too, with no less than four technical garments by main sponsor Mico Sport.

ADAMELLO TRAIL JUNIOR KICKS OFF THE MOST AWAITED WEEK
On Sunday, September 18, the week leading up to the Adamello Ultra Trail will be opened by the Adamello Trail Junior, the event that introduces the youngsters to the world of mountain running. Participation is free of charge, open to everyone from 0 to 19 years old, and all the participants will receive a special Mico Sport t-shirt. The meeting is set from 1 PM by the Town Hall of Vione (Piazza Vittoria, 1, Vione), where children and teenagers will run over loops of varying length and difficulty depending on age.
On Thursday afternoon, September 22nd, the preliminary operations, with the bibs’ pickup and technical briefing, will give the official start to the Adamello Ultra Trail programme.
